The other day somebody sent me this random text message and it said, emotions do not die because we feed it with memories and with that's the reason why people can not move on regardless of what the event is. Personally I really agree with this not because I am experiencing it firsthand or I have had experienced it but because of how true and evident it is. Before I would hear a lot of stories 'bout really horrible events in almost anywhere I go, almost any source, almost all of the aspects of life, breakups, family, school, name it I probably have heard of it. Every time I would hear of those horrible things and see people suffer from it and how they could not move on from the incident I would always ask myself, "Why on earth can't they just forget?". You see I always have asked myself that every single time I would hear of how one could not simply move on from an incident....until it came to me. There are a lot of things life would offer and sometimes its freely given and one of those freely given things, though we like to take it or not, is pain. We experience all the negativity of life almost everyday and sometimes we even ask ourselves why did it have to happen; why do we need to keep experiencing all the heartaches in life, in family, in love, in school, in work, whatever it is...why? And you see as people keep on experiencing these things over and over again sometimes much worse than it was at first people get traumatized and therefore do not forget. I have realized that people do not actually forget because first and foremost we keep on feeding it with memories. A weed though how badly you want it to die it would not die if you keep on feeding or supplying it with the things it actually needs. Now same goes with life, if we actually want to forget something yet we never actually forget tlhe memories that are weaved together with it, we actually would have a really hard time forgetting that sometimes it will feel like we actually have never moved on. But then this way of thinking isn't new to me because I have had thought of this like over a thousand times until I realized how stupid it is to actually think that people can just forget and things will go easy and it will be the start of something new. Screw you if you think of that...life's much more complicated than it seems and more often than not we say lets make life simple but then you ought to choose the right time to because if you say that make life simple you are missing totally a huge huge part of your life. We say forgive and forget and that's a fruit of us thinking that we must make life simple and yes it is simple but then simple would not suffice the understanding that we need to comprehend as to why people could not forget.
When one is hungry and does not have money to buy food that person would at one point say that he/she must forget the hunger but that hunger would be felt by him/her making it hard to actually forget it or take it in the least consideration. Also when one is tired yet that person needs to finish something; it would be easy to say to just forget the tediousness of the work and go on but in reality it is difficult. These are some analogies that would explain why we find it hard to forget things especially those traumatizing ones. We can not forget events simply because at one point or another you are still connected to it and though no matter how bad you want to forget and escape from it you couldn't. People have the nature of playing safe that they always think of the "ifs" much more than the now. We always take into consideration that at one point things will change and go our way that's why we do not cut our connections to something totally; this is one reason people do not forget. We simply find it hard to GIVE UP SOMETHING.
There are a lot of things people can not forget but like what I said in the begging of this entry I just found the text message interesting and somehow I want to give my thoughts about it and maybe get some insights from others. No matter hard things would, no matter how hard it is to forget we can always choose to smile; it may not be through the lips or the eyes or any outward appearance but smiling would always help.
:) Smile Always :)
